PEMF and Far Infrared (FIR): How They Work Together in iMRS Prime
When discussing PEMF therapy, it is important to recognise that iMRS Prime is not a PEMF-only system.
iMRS Prime integrates Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) with Far Infrared (FIR), creating a broader and more complementary therapeutic environment.
These two technologies operate through different physical mechanisms, which is precisely why they are often used together rather than in isolation.
What Far Infrared (FIR) Does?
Far Infrared is a form of electromagnetic radiation that lies beyond visible light.
In iMRS Prime, FIR is delivered through a whole-body mat embedded with carbon fibre flat applicators.
This system emits FIR in the approximate range of 3–15 μm, with an absorption resonance depth of around 50–75 mm.
Rather than producing intense surface heat, FIR provides a gentle, penetrating warmth that spreads gradually through the body.
Unlike traditional infrared saunas:
• The warmth is mild and comfortable
• There is no excessive sweating
• Clothing does not need to be removed
PEMF and FIR do not perform the same function.
• PEMF works primarily through electromagnetic induction, supporting cellular electrical regulation and signaling
• FIR provides thermal and circulatory support, helping tissues relax and improving overall comfort
With the introduction of the combined whole-body mat, PEMF and FIR can be applied simultaneously, allowing users to benefit from:
• Gentle warmth
• PEMF exposure
• A more comfortable and relaxed session experience
Relaxed tissue and improved comfort can also create a more receptive environment for PEMF application.
FIR does not replace PEMF.
PEMF does not replace FIR.
They address different aspects of the body’s response:
• FIR supports comfort, warmth, and relaxation
• PEMF supports cellular electrical regulation
Used together, they provide a more complete and comfortable therapy experience, without forcing stimulation or overwhelming the body.
The integration of PEMF and Far Infrared in iMRS Prime reflects a simple principle:
Support the body through multiple complementary pathways, rather than relying on a single modality.
This design allows sessions to feel gentle, relaxing, and suitable for repeated use over time.
